Being a fashion grad, I constantly have to be in a creative state of mind. I know that many people have their own rituals in preparing themselves in being in a creative state of mind, this is what I do! I love driving in mid afternoons and just looking at my surroundings. Living in Los Angeles, there is so much art and creative structures. Whether it’s the creative structure of a building or the display designs of a window I love to stimulate my mind looking at something that is eye catching! I remember learning an interesting fact from a guest speaker that came to my school. She said that when you have a wide or far view, that it opens up your mind and way of thinking! She then said that, that is why people from LA are more artistic then folks in NY because we have a farther range of a view to gaze at. I found that very interesting because, I live in a studio apartment in Downtown LA and my window is facing another apartment complex that is approximately 6 yards away. Very close! I realize I find myself having a block in my mind at times. After I heard that wonderful fact about how range of view can effect one’s mind, I then brought a solution to stimulating my mind! Whether it’s driving or walking around a mall, broaden your horizon and activate your creative brain!
I think the drawing of the young boy is really dope! I think capturing detail painting pictures in black and white is really difficult!
I love the color in both of these pieces. Since the last time I have taken pictures here, the artists’ talent keep getting better and better! The skill level I felt was already great but know has been taken to the next level!
